All Hallow's Eve

Another great Halloween has come and gone! We did the annual dressing up at work,
and I won first place!! Woot woot!
I got some movie tickets for my prize! Sa-Weet!!
They also did a Haunted House decorating contest,
and our sides won 1st in that too! It was a clean sweep!
We got some delicious cupcakes for our prize!
After all the fun at work, Toby and I headed to Moroni to enjoy the rest of the evening (Marcel had to work)!
Austen's costume was pretty sweet too!
This was Berlin's little Halloween costume! Suzanna did a great job on it! She is the cutest owl ever, don't ya think?!
I hope everyone else had a SpOoKtAcuLaR day too! ;)
Happy Halloween Everyone!!!

*~FrIgHtMaReS~*

That's right! Yesterday we got to go to Frightmares at Lagoon! We headed up early so we could be there before the crowds!
We had great timing and got there right as they were opening!
There weren't very many people there at all and we didn't have to wait in line hardly ever! We headed straight to "Wicked" and got to ride it 2x in a row without waiting (if any of you have been to Lagoon you know the line for this is usually at least an hour wait)!! All of the rides were like this for us!
The Colossus! Jes and I sat this one out because for some odd reason going upside down on rides like this makes us black out...weird I know. Austen and Marcel loved it though!
Classic Bumper Cars!! Love these! You are never too old for bumper cars!
Sky Ride. Very relaxing once you get over the fear of being so high up in a seemingly not very stable working contraption! This ride was much better when I was little and didn't over think everything!
After riding so many crazy rides in such a short amount of time you tend to feel pretty queasy.
So we decided to take a break by riding the train a couple times!
For lunch my amazing mom made us sandwiches and scrumptious pumpkin cookies that we just ate out in the back of the truck while soaking up some sun (much MUCH better than the food they have there...and cheaper I might add!)! Thanks Mom!! :)
We lucked out and the weather was great so "Rattle Snake Rapids" was still running! We rode that, not even exaggerating, at least 6x in a row (if not more)! There was absolutely no line for this so you can imagine how silly we looked jumping out of the raft, running up the stairs, out and around the fence back down to be loaded onto another raft! So fun!
I got SOAKED!! Every one else was able to maneuver themselves away from the water so that they didn't get as wet but the water was out to get me! Jes's feet got pretty wet too though! Note the puddle next to her just from wringing out her socks!
The best time was that Marcel had finally got splashed a tiny bit and I laughed at him for it. Immediately after I started laughing a huge splash hit me right in the face drenching me! Marcel laughed so hard he was having a hard time breathing! I laughed too but was not very happy that Karma had got me back so quickly! Good times! :)
Marcel had our phones in his pockets so he did a great job at keeping dry. However he couldn't completely escape so his back pockets got pretty wet along with the contents in them!
When walking back from Rattle Snake Rapids we found some Peacocks that were roaming freely around! We were able to get pretty close to them which was kinda cool but we were afraid they might attack us so we kept a little distance!

We rode a few more rides after that,

I had to get a picture of these fish prizes! Look how hilarious the one on the left is! It cracks me up even now! :)
and then went to the Haunted Houses they had set up this year! This was really the only time we had to wait in line and even that wait wasn't too bad!
Once we were all screamed out from the haunted houses we watched the wonderful performances by
followed by
and they were FaNtAsTiC as always!
After that we decided we'd reached our fun limit for the day so we headed out to the truck but not before taking the traditional picture!
It was a long and sleepy ride home and there was a B-E-A-Utiful sunset!
We had a great time at Frightmares this year, as always! Love LoVe LOVE it!! :)

*Mr. & Mrs. Marston*

Today one of Marcel's fire buddies got married to his sweetheart! We were actually present for their very first official date last year at the SLCFD Gala which is kinda fun! Their engagement was very romantic and it even made it on KSL!

'Burning love' inspires one-of-a-kind marriage proposal
"SALT LAKE CITY — A firefighter went to new heights to win the love of his life Tuesday. With careful planning and the use of some heavy equipment, Kyle Marston pulled off a very memorable marriage proposal. "Prince Charming" made his way to his beloved, not on horseback, but on a modern-day fire truck. Marston spent four months planning the proposal to his soon-to-be bride. But with emotions running high, the whole event was a bit of a blur. Good thing he caught the romantic moment on video. Karlie Wichma, our story's damsel in distress, unknowingly awaited her hero's arrival trapped in an office meeting. When Marston arrived, he quickly employed the fire truck's ladder and "rose to the occasion." When he opened ring box and asked Wichma to marry him, she replied with an excited "yes." "I can't remember what I said," Marston said, following the proposal. "You said, 'I can't think of what to say, but I love you. Will you marry me?'" Wichma told him. Good thing he has her to remember the details. But this story gets even sweeter. It makes sense that their engagement would begin in uniform because that's just how they first met. "We met on a call, it was a traffic accident," Marston explained. "I was there to do the medical, and she was there to write tickets." But Tuesday their celebration was not surrounded by noisy traffic, just enthusiastic friends."

They had a beautiful ceremony at the "This is the Place" Park in SLC.
Not a great picture (taken from inside our truck) but it really was a beautiful house!

A small group of us met up for the ceremony. The boys all went through academy together so it was fun for all of them to get together for a bit!

They make such a cute couple!

They had the cutest wedding cake too!
Congratulations Kyle & Carlie!
