SLCF Christmas Part-ay!

The SLCFD party this year was held at Boondocks in Layton (yes WAY up there!). Once we passed Lagoon I knew we were way far north (note my childish land marks!). We were each given a pass that allowed us to go on the Go-Karts (Fa-REEEzing!! I also may or may not have "accidentally" spun out a snotty preteen girl.....!), a round of Mini-golf (also freezing cold!), Lazer Tag (tons of fun!!), and $5 each for games! We had a blast with our friends and won lots of tickets!

{Picture compliments of Alesha! Andrew's the one next to me with all the tickets telling me when to press the button so we can win the jackpot again!}

We ended up pooling our tickets with Andrew (who we were unaware is a ticket winning master) and got some fun prizes (like our 2 super cute Minion dolls that I love!)!

After all the fun we had worked up a pretty good appetite so we went looking for a good place to eat with our friends Andrew and Alesha and ended up at the Red Rock Cafe! The food was delicious! I scarfed my meal up very quickly as did Marcel! Alesha enjoyed her fish and chips (which also looked really good!) but Andrew wasn't as happy with his. We may have to give this place another go!
We had such a great time hanging out with friends and can't wait to do it again sometime (hopefully soon!)!

Turkey Day!

Thanksgiving this year was very last minute for us. We just weren't feeling it this year (which is terrible to say but there it is). We ended up in Salt Lake for the Neeley family dinner which turned out pretty good! The food was great and it was nice seeing everyone all together!

We have so much to be grateful for this year and are so thankful for all of the blessings we've received thus far! We have so many amazing people in our lives too! We love you all so much and thank you for everything! :)

We have a Niece!!

Our B-E-A-Utiful niece was born today, 11-22-11 at 10:40am, weighing 7lbs 12oz.! Pascal and Suzanna gave her the name of Berlin Avery Braun and it fits her perfectly! She is such a cutie with a full head of hair! We are ecstatic to welcome Berlin into our family and look forward to watching her grow!

BrEaKiNg DaWn!!!

A bunch of us crazy friends decided it would be fun to go to the midnight showing of Breaking Dawn! A few of us really got into it and bought the shirt, and collector cup/popcorn bucket! We all got tickets to see Eclipse at 9pm followed by the Breaking Dawn movie! The tickets had reserved seating so we didn't have to be in line all day to get good seats! We had so much fun and the movie was AWESOME! I love these girls!

Cast Away

For our date night I decided we'd go on a little adventure together (you know where the inspiration came from!)! The theme for this date was "CAST AWAY"!

The atmosphere was set. We were wrecked on an island so the provisions were spread throughout the room for Marcel to find!

First we found some packages that washed ashore and luckily the clothes in them were dry since we were soaked from swimming to dry land!

We started the movie and ate some dinner. We had some fish stix with mashed potatoes along with a side of shrimp! Yummm! (No pictures of this. We scarfed it up pretty quick! Give us a break though, we were starving after our traumatic experience with the plane crash and such!)! Toby even hunted down a wild pig running about and caught it!

Next we built our shelters to protect us from the elements!

Next we made our "Wilson" to keep us company on the lonely island!

After Wilson arrived we began telling him about the one's we love and decided to draw a picture of them and what they would look like on the island with us so we could look at it and remember!

After all was said and done, an account of our adventure was documented!

It was a scary adventure to a deserted island but we made it back safe and sound!

Great Friends!

I work with some pretty great people who have become really good friends! Thanks for the goodies Ferrin!! :)

"Eat or Chuck, Either way have a good day!"

Surprise Guest!

Marcel had a surprise visitor last night at Station 4!
Upon closer inspection, the visitor was quite a looker!!
Too bad it's illegal to hunt right there.....! ;)

Salt Lake City Fire Dept. Gala

We had the opportunity to attend this years SLC Fire Dept. Awards Gala! We had so much fun dressing up and having a great time with some great people!

I had such a good time getting to know Marcel's academy buddies & their wife's/dates better! We didn't get pictures of everyone but they all are so much fun! It was a riot hearing all their stories from academy! You'd almost think they actually had fun ;)!

It really was such a great night! This is such an amazing company to be a part of and Marcel has never been happier with his job! I can't wait until next year!

3 Great Years!

This year we decided that our Vegas getaway would be our Anniversary celebration (which as you already know, we had a blast!). So we didn't do a whole lot when the day actually came (also because Marcel had to work). I did however make an Angry Birds cake for the occasion! Marcel loved it!

Happy Anniversary to the greatest husband!

I love you tons hun!!!

3 whole years! Woot woot!! :)

**Winter is here**

Well it's the day after Halloween and the skies apparently decided they couldn't hold the snow back any longer! I woke up thinking that my clocks were wrong because it was still so dark outside! It was raining but shortly after getting to work it began to snow....a LOT!

Well I guess whether we're all ready or not Winter is here!

All Hallow's Eve!

This year for Halloween I contemplated what to be and Marcel suggested the "Mad Hatter" as I had dressed up like that for a fun photo contest last year. So we went to Savers in Orem and with the help of my awesome hubs we picked out some random mismatchy things to complete the look! The morning of Halloween I got all ready and Marcel woke up and helped color my hair! Once I was ready I headed to work! Every year they have a costume contest and I ended up taking 1st this year (& got an awesome cotton candy pink snuggy, & yes I actually am very excited about it!)! Marcel was pretty excited that I won (not so much about the snuggy!)!

It was so fun seeing everyone's fun costumes!

They also had a pumpkin carving contest between all the departments. I ended up carving the pumpkin for Dr. Bailey's Office and it took 2nd (also very cool & we each got a Fat Boy ice cream sandwich for the 3 of us!)!

All the other pumpkin's were way awesome too!

After work I went home to Marcel and Toby.

We just relaxed for a bit waiting for Pascal to get home from work and then went up to watch a scary movie with him and Suzanna.
{Look how cute her shirt is!}

We ended up watching "Insidious" which turned out pretty cheesy but all you that know me know that it still scared me! There was even a part in it that scared Marcel enough to put goosebumps on his arms, which I've never seen anything scare him like that before so that tells you how scary it was!
Overall this Halloween was a lot more laid back than usual but we still had fun!

Weekend Get-away

This last weekend we were able to take another trip to Vegas and we had a BLAST! With that extra little Miata that came with the Rx8, Marcel sold it so we had some extra play money!
Our first day we did some shopping and picked up our tickets for Criss Angel's show!
The second day we went to Madame Tussuad's Wax Museum which was awesome! It is crazy how real they look!

Then we went bowling with Nadine & Joel (they had to work every night while we were there so we didn't get to see them much). I did TERRIBLE! Seriously like record book bad, but everyone else did great! We didn't get any pictures but it was fun to spend some time with them!
After bowling we did a 'buffet stuff-your-face-&-dash' then headed to "BELIEVE"!! It was such an amazing show! We were totally MiNdFrEaKeD! I can't believe some of the illusions he does! It's just awesome! We're lame and didn't take any pictures, but to be fair we would've been kicked out if we were caught taking any so there ya go. However, thanks to this magical thing called "Internet" I was able to snag a few!
The next morning we headed down to check out "Pawn Stars" pawn shop and can I just say, not that great. It was WAY smaller than it appears on TV and while there was some neat stuff to look at most of it was jewelry (like wedding rings and watches, nothing cool). We weren't in there very long but now we can say we've been there I guess! I'll just stick with watching it on TV! Across the street we found some crude humor...you've been warned!
After spending some time wandering around Circus Circus and watching an awesome balancing act, we headed to the Stratosphere to go on the rides!
I have one word to describe how I felt about this little adventure...TERRIFIED!! Seriously! The view from all the way up there was incredible but it was SO high up!
When we finally went outside I couldn't breath properly for a few minutes because of my fear! It sounds dramatic but if you've been up there, you know exactly what I'm talking about!
The first ride we went on was called "Insanity" for good reason! You sit in this chair, they lower the rails and you move out to where you're hovering over the edge of the building, 866" above the ground!! I kept telling Marcel to take me back because I was SO scared! There were 2 Japanese guys on the ride with us (it wasn't very busy) and they were laughing at my freak outs! Well I thought that going over the edge was bad enough but then you start spinning and the force of the spinning makes your seat tip so your facing the ground. Here is where I almost passed out. I honestly thought I wasn't going to make it! But the spinning stopped and we were brought back to the building where I wanted to kiss the ground! I honestly didn't know I was afraid of heights but I now know that I am! However, that's high enough that I think the people who aren't afraid of heights would be afraid!
The next ride was the "X Scream", & believe me I did a whole lot of that! We were the only 2 on this one so we got the front seat, which just so happens to be the scariest seat. This ride proceeds to tip you so you think you're going to fly off the side of the 100 story building. The front seat actually goes past the end of the track so it's extremely scary!
The Final ride was the "Big Shot" which is like the Rocket ride at Lagoon, only you're 1,081" in the air at max height! I actually did enjoy this ride but if you could've seen the picture they took of us taking off, you would think differently! Priceless terror on my face! We would've got the picture but we weren't going to pay $16 for it!
Now we can say we survived the Stratosphere rides and we may even do it again next time only go at night instead!
After all that excitement we headed back to pack up the car and say our "see ya later"s.
We had such a great time and it was a much needed escape from our day to day routine! It's nice that we have family in town that can take care of our furry kiddo's while we're gone so we can actually go! Thanks Pascal and Suzanna
