Let the Games Begin!

The day was finally here! In Lou of the movie I emailed my mom some pictures and she printed them off on iron-on paper and made Jes, Austen, and myself t-shirts (Marcel didn't want one)!

The theatre was packed! We got there at around 11:50pm and had to park at the end of the dirt parking lot at Taco Time! Yeah, tons of people! I thought I was being kinda cool wearing my hair in a Katniss side braid with some Cinna gold glitter eyeliner but it turns out that I just blended in with all of the teeny boppers! Haha! Not really a surprise but still. We got our goodies and went to our seats anxiously awaiting for the Games to start!

Don't mind the demon eyes in this picture! Our eyes are just ablaze with excitement!! ;)

I'm going to be honest here, I was very disappointed in the movie. There were so many small unnecessary changes made to the movie that I was left frustrated when it was over. I know I may have gotten a little too excited and my expectations quite high but the changes they made were things that wouldn't have been a big deal to leave the same as the book. It was very rushed and you didn't really have any time to connect to the characters. If I hadn't read the book I think I may have been a little confused. I'm very sad that it wasn't as good as it had the potential to be. That all being said, it did have it's good things as well. I won't go into details so as not to spoil anything. Overall I won't be rushing back to the theater to see it again any time soon. I can wait for it to come out on bluray!

With it being the midnight showing we were pretty darn tired by the time we finally got home! Marcel and Toby were in bed falling asleep in no time!

Sorry to be such a downer about the movie and if you like it then that's great! I will stay hopeful that the next movie will be better (since the first in a series of book-to-movie films are never the greatest).

3 Days!

Marcel surprised me with all this when he came home from work! I'm SO excited he got me the pin! I was going to try and make one but now I don't have to! And now for confession time, I'm wearing it under my jacket here at work! It makes me feel like a capital rebel! Haha! Only 3 more days!!

Sad face!

Berlin apparently had a blowout diaper incident while Manuel and Dani were babysitting her. They realized that some of it got on Manny's pants so they got her all cleaned up and when they went to take the picture.....well the picture says it all!!

Haha! Oh man she's such a cutie!!

9 Days!!

....and counting!!!

{This is how we've been spending our evenings!}

True Love!

My aunt found this letter that my Grandpa Neeley wrote to my grandma not too long ago. It is SO sweet! I just wanted to save this to remember that you can still be deeply in love after 45 years!

Dani Darling!

Dani has been given a great opportunity for her modeling career. "elite" has invited her to go work with them this summer in Thailand, all expenses paid, for 4 months. It is a long time to be so far away but this could be huge for her and we're very excited!! Dani explained to me that being invited by elite is rare in and of itself so when they initially asked her back in August and she had to decline because it was bad timing with school and everything she was sure that was it. To be invited a 2nd time is almost unheard of and everything just aligns to where it's perfect for her to go now! I mean she is GORGEOUS so I'm not surprised they still want her!

See what I mean?! She'll do great! She'll leave in May and will be gone until August so she'll have plenty of time to charm the people of Thailand! :)

Back in Black!

Okay so not black but really dark brown!
Yeah I missed it!

We were able to get our reserved tickets for the midnight showing of "The Hunger Games"! Needless to say, we're pretty dang excited!!!
They also had some free posters so we got a little carried away!
