Lil' Bow wow!

We bought a new camcorder to record our hunts with as well as just to have for whatever and it finally got here yesterday! Marcel was playing with it to see how it worked and recorded a little bit of Toby. When he hooked it up to the TV for us to watch, Toby was a little confused and intrigued!
I can only imagine what he was thinking! I think I'm pretty close though! :)

Double Date!

Yesterday we grabbed Marcel's and my mom's Tucano's free meal cards and headed up for our first double date! It was so fun spending some one on one (or two on two rather) time with them!
My mom had some stuff to exchange at Bath&Body Works so we headed over there. The guys, being as manly as they are, waited outside! Can't risk smelling like a petunia, people might get the wrong idea! ;)
We had a great time and I can't wait to do it again in the future!

Zen

Today our little guy was more relaxed than we've ever seen him!
He squished his back down in between the couch cushions and just hung off the edge, totally comfortable! How would it be? Such a tough life....! ;)
What a weirdie! We just love this little guy and his quirky personality!

30 - 2 = ....

28!!! That's how old my sweet husband turned today!
I had to work so he relaxed at home up until around 5 when I came back!
Relaxed with this crazy little man!
I made him dinner and then revealed his cake!
It didn't turn out at all how I had pictured, and Marcel actually had to help me lay the fondant on top of the cake, AND I forgot to frost it before putting the fondant on it...*sigh*...he loved it regardless of all it's faults!
It was an quieter birthday than the others but we still enjoyed it! Marcel also received a card in the Mail from Nadine which he wasn't expecting and loved!
Happy Birthday my Honey Bun! ;)
Next year will be more exciting, I promise!!!

Birthday Duo

Yesterday my family came over to do a joint birthday celebration for my mom and Marcel's birthday! We had a delicious dinner, followed by cake and ice cream (which was also delicious, if I do say so myself, and I do!)!
This is the cake I made for my mom (obviously)! I have something different planned for Marcel's cake on his actual birthday so I just made one for her! It looked MUCH better in real life!
Next my mom and Marcel opened their presents (I forgot to get a picture of my mom's presents but they were cute and she loved them!)!
Exactly what he wanted! He was SO excited!!
After filling our bellies and enjoying some presents, we headed to the movie theater to see the long awaited final Batman movie "The Dark Knight Rises"!!!
Okay people when I tell you we were geeky excited about this is an understatement! We all LOVED it!! And the best part was that it lived up to and exceeded any and all expectations we had for it!! This movie critic gives this movie 10 gold stars! :)
I just had to add this in for my entertainment! I happened to snap the picture at the same time Marcel blinked, hence the "ghost" eyes! Kinda spooky!

 I have a feeling it's going to be a good year! :)

78th Annual Ute Stampede

The grand ol' Ute Stampede! 78 years of good times! Regardless of the bad weather that was looming every day threatening to ruin everything, all of the events pushed forward and it was still a good year!
We started the Stampede off by going to the Rodeo on Thursday night because I had won a drawing for 4 box seat tickets from work! We had a heck of a time getting anyone to come with us (who knew it would be so hard to have people come watch the rodeo in box seats for free?!?!) and finally got Jes and Austen to come! The rodeo that night seemed very unorganized but we still had a good time watching the events! We had tickets for my family to come watch the rodeo with us on Friday so Jes and Austen just spent the night!
The next day work got out early for the Mammoth Parade! We had a pretty good spot kitty-corner from our house and we even got some candy (go us!)! We ended up heading home about half way through the parade because it got extremely windy and started to pour but we looked out the window and saw that they didn't let the weather stop the parade! Those poor beauty queens looked miserable on their floats trying to hang on to their crowns, cover their faces, wave and keep smiling through the rain! What troopers!
The float with the heads sang and the mouths would move! It was by far my favorite float! Also, have you ever seen a pink saxophone?! I love it! And didn't the new brush truck look so nice?! ;)
Once my mom and dad arrived we made some scrumptious skewers and corn on the cob for dinner (SOOO good!) and then headed to the rodeo! The flag flying through the air paired with the patriotic music gets me every time, I am definitely proud to be an American!
Ready for the fun to begin and praying it wouldn't rain, which it didn't! Phew! :)
Friday night is the "Tough enough to wear Pink" night. It is so awesome to see all those cowboys/cowgirls sporting their pink to support breast cancer awareness!
Our seats were awesome Friday night! We were right next to the shoots so we had a great view of everything! They also did some young bull riding right at the beginning (no pics :(....) and had a kid as young as 6 do it! They were so small and cute on those little bulls! I couldn't believe it!
Friday night was much more organized and we enjoyed it a whole lot more! Marcel even spoiled us all by getting us Funnel Cakes! Oh.My.Gosh they were good! I didn't even think to take a picture until our plates were empty! Maybe I'll remember next year before I'm mesmerized by the deep fried cakey goodness! :)
I skipped out on the coin dig this year....I know, I know....totally lame, but I was pretty tired! So after the rodeo we headed home and said our goodbyes and went to bed so we'd be rested for Saturday's Car Show!
It was fun hanging out with friends and getting compliments on Marcel's baby! He enjoyed it! And he won 1st place in his category!! Granted his car was the only one in that category, but still! He was kinda bummed that he didn't have competition but the bad weather kept a lot of cars in their garages this year.
Oh and wouldn't you know it? Jes designed the shirts for the car show! She is so dang talented! I think I'll have her sign mine! :)
Not the clearest picture but they are seriously awesome! So proud! :)
I always love this time of year and can't wait to do it again next year for the 79th Annual Ute Stampede!!
See ya'll then! ;)

8 Years Old!!!

Demon and Storm are 8 today!! I can't believe how old they're getting!
Love these two crazy kids! :)

Let Freedom Ring

We switched things up a bit this year from our usual traditions. I was terrible with taking pictures, as in I didn't take any, so bear with me! I went to Moroni the night of the 3rd to spend the night. We attempted sleeping out on the trampoline but with all the unfamiliar noises and the cats jumping on and off Toby wouldn't sit still. So around 2:30am I took Toby in the house to try and get a smidgen of sleep before the sun came up but wasn't very successful. 7:30 was breakfast time and I was already exhausted! Reluctantly I got up and we all got ready and went to the Parade. My dear friend Kat came over for a visit and I got to see her cute little man Terrix who is already 8months old!! I hadn't seen him since he was brand new in the hospital so it was really fun to see how much he's grown and it was fun seeing his beautiful mom!

After the parade we got everything together and headed to Nephi. Marcel had just come home from work that morning so he was waiting for us there! We went to the Nephi Park for the the festivities and shortly after getting there Marcel got called out to a structure fire. The rest of us hung around for a bit longer and then we headed back to our house to relax until "Lunner"! Marcel got home just in time to help BBQ the turkey and help set up. We all set up camp chairs under the big tree in our front yard and ate outside which was so nice! It was fun sitting around just chatting and enjoying every one's company and all the delicious food! After a while my family went to watch the new "Spider Man" movie (which they said was actually pretty good) and Marcel and I stayed home (didn't really have a desire to see it and I doubt I could've stayed awake through it, it was over 2hrs long) and caught up on our "Awkward" series!
When their movie was over they came and got their things and headed home because my dad had to work.
There were no fireworks this year as a precaution because of all the fires. It was kinda sad not having the fireworks to mark the holiday but I completely understand why. Hopefully next year won't be so dry!

On a more serious note, I am so grateful for the men and women who serve and have served to protect this great nation's freedom. They and their families have sacrificed and continue to sacrifice so much to do so.
Thank you so much for all that you do! We are forever grateful for your service!
God bless the USA!

Countdown

Something good came in the mail today....!
 The countdown is on!!
Okay so less than 3 months but how cute is this baby?!

Lions and Tigers and Bears, Oh my!!

Okay so no Lions or Tigers but we did capture some bears on our Trail Camera and they aren't little guys. Unfortunately the area they are in is Limited Entry so we won't be able to get one. What is it with all the bears everywhere we set up?!

Visit

Look who came to visit!
We've really missed this cute girl. She's been sick so she was sleepy and fussy but we still loved spending some time with her!
